Container modification questions

How long does a container modification take?
Simple modifications (a door, a window, a paint job) take 2–5 business days. Full interior conversions for offices or restaurants typically run 4–8 weeks. We provide a projected timeline with your quote.
Do I need a permit for a modified container?
Permit requirements vary by city and county. In California, permanent structures generally require a building permit regardless of construction method; temporary placement without utilities typically does not. We recommend confirming with your local building department — and we’re happy to provide documentation for permit applications.
Can you modify a container I already own?
Yes. Bring-your-own-container modifications are available at our Pasadena yard. We evaluate the container’s condition before accepting modification work to ensure structural integrity supports the planned changes.
What container sizes can be modified?
We modify all standard sizes — 10ft, 20ft and 40ft, plus special sizes including 45ft high-cube. Larger projects may join multiple containers (a “combo build”) to achieve the required square footage.
