New, used & refurbished containers for sale in Riverside

Riverside sits at the heart of the Inland Empire’s warehouse corridor — one of the largest industrial markets in North America — and our containers work alongside it. Logistics operators near the 60, 91 and 215 interchanges buy 40ft high cubes for overflow inventory, while contractors across Riverside County use 20ft units as secure site boxes.

Since 1 January 2026, AB 98 has applied state design standards to new and expanded logistics uses, and the Warehouse Concentration Region it defines names Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley and Perris directly. Expansions of 20% or more of existing floor area trigger it. With the construction pipeline at a decade low, more operators are adding capacity on ground they already control rather than building — which is a large part of why our phone rings out here.

We supply new one-trip, used, and refurbished containers in every standard size, all wind and water tight, with multi-unit pricing for operators running several sites. Modifications are done in our own shop — doors, vents, insulation, lighting, power, and shelving. Same-day quotes, and delivery across Riverside County typically within 3–5 business days.

On the way back from picking up parts we finally stopped by since we drive past it a lot. Solid spot — the guy working was super helpful and got us in and out quick with the container we needed. Prices seemed fair compared to what everyone else charges online.

Worked over a weekend to get us a modified shipping container ahead of schedule at a reasonable price. This company is the best!

I would recommend Shipping Container Depot and Phil to any of my business colleagues. They go out of their way to help you — very few companies like them left. Thank you for your expertise.

Andrew Simapay

Bought a container and could not be happier. The price was very reasonable, cheaper than the other quotes, and it was delivered on time — placed in a very tight spot for no extra money and with a smile. Great job!

Pro tip: the 40ft high cube is the go-to for container homes and offices — that extra foot of interior height makes all the difference once you insulate and finish the ceiling.

FAQ

Riverside container questions, answered

+Does AB 98 affect adding container storage at our site?
AB 98’s design standards took effect on 1 January 2026 and apply to new and expanded logistics uses, with expansion defined as 20% or more of existing floor area. The Warehouse Concentration Region it defines names Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley and Perris among others. Containers are a common way to add secured storage on ground you already control rather than extending a building — but we are container suppliers, not land use consultants, and whether a particular placement needs its own zoning approval depends on your site and jurisdiction. Check with planning or your consultant first, and we will supply dimensions, weights, and placement drawings for anything you need to file.
+What is the typical delivery time to Riverside?
Delivery across Riverside County is typically 3–5 business days from our Los Angeles depot. Rural placements and sites needing access coordination can take longer. Quotes come back the same day with the window confirmed.
+What size works best for warehouse overflow?
40ft high cubes are the usual pick along the Inland Empire warehouse corridor — most storage per dollar, and the extra foot of interior height matters when you are racking or moving palletised stock with a forklift. 20ft units place far more easily on constrained yards and make better secure site boxes for contractors. Tell us the yard space and what is going in and we will tell you what fits.
+How do I stop heat damaging inventory stored in a container?
Riverside summers regularly pass 100°F, and a sealed steel box will run hotter still, then draw moisture as it cools overnight. For general palletised stock, passive vents on opposing walls are usually enough. For electronics, adhesives, packaged goods, or anything with a temperature spec, insulation or a powered unit is the honest answer — tell us what is going inside and we will say which is actually needed rather than selling you the bigger option.
+Can you deliver onto an unpaved or soft-ground site?
Often, yes, but tell us before delivery day. A tilt-bed truck needs roughly 100 feet of straight clearance and ground firm enough not to sink — out toward Perris, Lake Mathews, and the rural county lots, firmness matters more than space. Describe the access route and surface and we will confirm whether the truck makes it in, or send a different one.
+Do I need a permit to place a container in Riverside?
It depends on zoning and how long it stays. A container on an industrial or commercial site is treated differently from a permanent accessory structure on a residential lot, and requirements differ between the City of Riverside and unincorporated Riverside County. Confirm with the relevant planning department — we can supply dimensions, weights, and placement drawings for the application.
+How much are shipping containers in Riverside?
Expect $1,400 to $7,000 depending on size, condition, and delivery. One-trip units run roughly $5,000–$6,000 for a 20ft and $6,500–$7,000 for a 40ft; used units run about $1,200–$2,500 for a 20ft and $2,600–$3,300 for a 40ft. Rentals start around $100 a month for a 20ft and $200 a month for a 40ft, and we quote volume pricing for logistics operators taking several units.
+Do you deliver to Moreno Valley, Corona, Perris and Jurupa Valley?
Yes — Riverside and the surrounding county, including Moreno Valley, Corona, Norco, Jurupa Valley, Perris, Lake Mathews, Woodcrest, Rubidoux, Eastvale, and Mira Loma. For San Bernardino County addresses, see our San Bernardino page — same fleet, same pricing. Send the delivery ZIP and we will price it.
